When Mary brings home a mysterious deck of tarot cards, the mundane life she shares with her husband, Darrin, vanishes. In its place stands the World Circus—a nightmare dimension of carnivorous clowns, provocative entertainers, and lethal spectacles. While Mary finds a terrifying serenity under the Big Top, Darrin is desperate to escape the gore and madness of this bizarre society.

After a brush with death, they strike a desperate bargain: to keep their own lives, they must provide new souls for the circus’s ranks. Back in the real world, Mary stalks the streets for replacements, her mind still echoing with the applause of the damned. But as the lines between reality and the circus blur, they realize the inhabitants of the World Circus have been lying to them all along. Now, they must make a final, irreversible choice.
