#BlackFriday Sale Day 3

Dreamwalker: The Second Plain is on sale for $.0.99 today and tomorrow (November 25-26) at Amazon for Kindle. Saul can control dreams, not just his dreams but dreams of people he comes in contact with. At first, he is not aware of what he can do and does not understand why people act strangely when he gets angry. When he goes away to boarding school, he inadvertently calls for help from his Spirit Guide. His Spirit Guide teaches Saul about his gift and alerts him about danger from the Man who wants the gift. His paranoid warnings turn out to be true when the Man finds Saul after he is finished with school. Had Saul listened, then the nightmares that the Man creates for his own pleasure and gain would not have happened. To end the nightmares, Saul must solve a poorly written “riddle” before it’s too late. Saul enlists Marcie, a newly divorced nurse who works at the Lakeside Sanitarium, to help him stop the Man. He tells her the story of how he came to be at the Lakeside Sanitarium and t

Final Day - Dreamwalker: The Second Plain Anniversary #99cent #ebook #Sale #LGBTQ+#PromoteHorror #IndieHorror

Today is the final day of this week long Dreamwalker: The Second Plain extravaganza and the sale ends today, too. I hope you’ve enjoyed the excerpts and have picked up your copy on Amazon. Hunting High and Low – Chapter 79 Dusk fell on the tree-lined streets where people, drinking iced coffees, sat at tables with large red-and-white striped umbrellas. Children whooped and hollered as they jumped through the water streams of the fountain. Toad, Twig, and Stretch approached. A little girl staring up into the dense branches of a tree, said, “Kitty, kitty, come down, it’s OK.” Twig entered the alley and was greeted by the putrid stench of urine. Covering his nose and mouth with his bark-encrusted hand, he didn’t notice the shadows intensified the further he went. Ahead stood an open door emitting brightness the room contained without allowing a beam of light to exit into the alley. The room was filled floor-to-ceiling with neatly stacked boxes, and shelves lining the walls filled with toys

I have a few cover versions for Dreamwalker: The Second Plain. The current one is from the 5 year anniversary redesign, giving a glimpse of Saul and the destroyed asylum fading in the background. I was looking for a copy of the original for this post, but I can’t find it anywhere. I’ve included the second take below in the excerpt. Conditioned Soul – Chapter 57 Booth fifteen: He tied the woman and child to a long plank with their arms extended above their heads. The tips of their fingers could almost touch. Tears and sweat drenched their faces. The whir of the machine with an assortment of circular blades stemming from a center pivot muffled their cries. The blades spun and undulated as the arm of the machine brought the bundle closer to the child’s body. The woman shrieked, the child wailed, the blades pulled away and moved to the woman who yelled to leave her baby alone and hurt her instead. The machine did as requested, drawing close to her abdomen. Drops of blood flew as their crie

Dreamwalker: The Second Plain is a journey of discovery for Saul as he learns what he’s capable of doing and the power that he controls with a mere thought. Unfortunately, like so many, he doesn’t realize that he’s being used until it’s too late. This excerpt is Saul’s first attempt of helping people tormented by their demons. Cake and Eat It – Chapter 39 Saul concentrated on the panicked woman. Her fist of her free hand swung at the figure. Out of shock, he released his grip on her wrist, allowing her to escape. The shadowy person laughed a low guttural laugh, as she ran down the alley into the darkness. Fortunately for her, the resistance she had experienced before didn’t slow her pace, giving her the chance to cross half the distance of the alley before they began their pursuit. She knew they would find her again; they always did. The alley presented another leading to her left. Ahead she found shadows darker than she had ever seen, but down the intersection alley were bright, amber

When I think back on writing Dreamwalker: The Second Plain, I’m amazed that it took me so long to finish it, especially with how my process is today, but I guess five years isn’t bad for the first book. People always ask what inspired this book, well besides Nightmare on Elm Street, some of the encounters in the Second Plain come from dreams/nightmares that I’ve had; I’m one of those lucky people who have the gift a remembering them. Now, on to today’s excerpt. Love is a Stranger – Chapter 31 The redhead man walked through the crowd of men dancing, with his target in view. As he proceeded, the dancers moved chaotically making his passage challenging, but his determination didn’t allow them to stop him from reaching his goal. Steps away, he began dancing with the crowd, continuing toward his target. He reached out, groping the hairy-muscular man dancing closely with the smooth blonde. Pinching the hair-encircled nipple, the hulking redhead gyrated his hips into the hairy-chested man’s t

Dreamwalker: The Second Plain was published eight years ago today. To celebrate I’ve reduced the price to 99¢ for the entire week (sale ends 8/31), and I’m sharing excerpts so you can get a taste of this delightful LGBTQ+ tale of terror. Virgin Superstar – Chapter 10 Saul hung his clothes in the metal wardrobe, then shoved his suitcase under the bed. He tore open the box that his Mother had packed bed linens in with school and bathroom supplies. Putting his belongings away, he tried to ignore the disgusting piles of clothes and junk behind him on Mitch’s bed. At least the fresh air pouring in from the windows lightened the foul aroma filth. “Why did they put me with this ass?” he mumbled. “Why couldn’t they have put me with Eric or anyone else?” After emptying the box, he broke it apart and slid it in the crevice between the back of the wardrobe and the wall. A previous resident had attached a full-length mirror to the side of the closet, which he balefully stared into, trying to put t

Dreamwalker: The Second Plain Anniversary Week #99cent #Sale #ebook #PromoteHorror #IndieHorror #LGBTQ+

This week marks the eighth year of publication for Dreamwalker: The Second Plain , and in honor of it’s release I’ve lowered the price to 99¢ (for Kindle only) from today until the end of the month (8/26-8/31). The book is separated into sections that each carries a song title that has inspired me in one way or the other. Throughout the week, I’ll be posting excerpts, so you can get a glimpse of the Second Plain. Somethings Going On – Chapter 1 “Only storage in the attic,” Janet said flatly, squinting across the room. She took a breath, and a cold smile stretched her mouth. “When they added the elevator in the 60s they didn’t want to lose any floor space, so they built the shaft outside, taking a window from each floor. It wasn’t possible to extend the elevator to the attic since it doesn’t have the floor space or the same window placement. So it’s just not possible to do anything up there.” Janet turned from the doors, looking at the dry fountain in the courtyard in the center of the
