Susanne Leist @SusanneLeist - #RRBC Spotlight Author #RRBCSA

Today, I welcome Susanne Leist, the RRBC Spotlight Author for September 2020. HE HAS COME FOR ME – WRITTEN FOR PREY FOR THE DEAD (Note about the poem from Susanne Leist.) Poetry began as a way to promote my books. Now, it is one of my passions. This poem describes Wolf’s love for Linda, a vampire who loves a human. HE HAS COME FOR ME He has come for me. I’ll never be free. He comes at night, Fear at first sight. He claims his love, But he’s no dove. He’s evil as can be, Always searching for me. I must hide until morning, Or the town will be mourning. The devil hides his face. I know his deadly pace. His footsteps ring hollow. Steps quicken to follow. He sings a sweet song. I know I’m not wrong. The devil is right behind me, Even though his face, I can’t see. He has me in his grasp. I cry out with a gasp. He kisses me with passion. I know this is his fashion To take what is not his And make me into his. THE DEAD AT HEART William’s bite bonded Shana to him, but he didn’t ask her to mate

Welcome to Jan Sikes’ SHORT STORY BOOK BLAST! #RRBC #RWISA #RRBCAuthor

AUTHOR BIO: Jan Sikes is an award-winning Texas author who has been called a wordsmith by her peers. She openly admits that she never set out in life to be an author. But she had a story to tell. Not just any story, but a true story that rivals any fiction creation. You simply can’t make this stuff up. It all happened. She chose to create fictitious characters to tell the story through, and they bring the intricately woven tale to life in an entertaining way. She released a series of music CDs to accompany the four biographical fiction books and then published a book of poetry and art to complete the story circle. And now that the story is told, Jan Sikes can’t find a way to put down the pen. She continues to write fiction and has published many short stories with a series of novels waiting in the wings. She is a member of Authors Marketing Guild, The Writer’s League of Texas, the RAVE REVIEWS BOOK CLUB (RRBC), the RAVE WRITER’S INT’L SOCIETY OF AUTHOR (RWISA), and sits on the RWISA E

Karen Black #RRBC July Spotlight Author

Today, I’m welcoming Karen Black, July’s RRBC Spotlight Author. She wrote Race Into Murder , which I absolutely loved. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by ghosts, spirits, and anything unknown, and a lot of my plots lean toward the paranormal, sometimes obvious and other times subtle. The first eBook I published, as an Indie Author, was “A Candle in the Darkness.” It is a story of life after death. I wrote it to ask two questions. Do the dead still live? Can those mourning a death go on with their life? I wrote “Candle” after I lost a close friend and would like to believe that some who read it will find hope, or maybe a sense of comfort. It’s one of my favorites. A Candle in the Darkness Flashing and dancing, the lightning would have been beautiful, illuminating the sky like fireworks on the fourth of July, but the rain and the wind made it frightening. Its beauty was lost in the violence of the storm. Valerie was driving to Maryland. Her husband’s funeral had been

Think Murder (Adina Donati, Accidental Sleuth Book 1) by Cassidy Salem #RRBC #BookReview

Mysteries are always fun to read with the heartbeat of the book intensifying with every turn of the page. I wish Think Murder had more of that feeling. The initial scene, when the murder takes place, is exciting, then it becomes boring and mundane with the daily life of Adina as she goes to work, picks out her clothes, and cleans her apartment. There are other bits of mystery and intensity thrown in here and there, but not the amount I’d expect from the genre. Finally, the excitement returns with an attempted kidnapping of the heroine, but it’s at the end and is short-lived. Think Murder wasn’t as exciting as I expected and I give it 3 out of 5 Stars. About Think Murder (Adina Donati, Accidental Sleuth Book 1) Good friends, wine and conversation… Great fun – until somebody turns up dead. Adina Donati came to Washington D.C. to find excitement, not a dead body. When a friend is murdered, Adina is drawn into the middle of the police investigation. Tensions rise as the suspect list expand

#RRBC May Spotlight Authors Breakfield & Burkey - Day 6

How Do You Keep Your Writing Different? Authors Breakfield and Burkey In writing The Enigma Series, TechnoThriller Fiction, we have technology as the backdrop. Technology changes so frequently as does the consumption by businesses and individuals. As a result, we are able to pick a different focus topic for each book and maintain common characters but also introduce new ones. Our stories are tales of cyber good guys versus cyber thugs. For example, we have focused on Identity Theft, Living Forever, Stealing the Future with AI (artificial intelligence), Gamification, distorting the data driving commodity markets, and Cryptocurrency. These are relevant topics often in the headlines and social media outlets which helps us keep our writing evolving. We also feel we have an advantage as co-authors. It is very effective when we review characters that are guys or gals because we tend to keep each other honest on what one might say over another. We can draw upon our professional experience and

What is tetanus? Tentanus is an acute infectious disease caused by spores of bacteria. These spores are found everywhere in the environment, particularly in soil, ash, intestinal tracts/feces of animals and humans, and on the surfaces of skin and rusty tools like nails, needles, barbed wire, etc. Being very resistant to heat and most antiseptics, the spores can survive for years. Symptoms of tetanus Tetanus is often called lockjaw due to one of its common symptoms being spasms of the jaw muscles. Other symptoms of tetanus include: Muscle spasms (often in the stomach) Muscle stiffness all over the body Trouble swallowing Jerking or staring (seizures) Headache Fever and sweating Changes in blood pressure and heart rate Symptoms of tetanus can appear anywhere from 3 to 21 days after exposure. The further the injury site is from the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord), the longer it will take to see symptoms in an infected person. The quicker the symptoms present after an injury

Welcome to the "CHASING THE RAINBOW" Blog Tour! @FRStepnowski @4WillsPub #RRBC

“Chasing the Rainbow” Blog Tour Day 1 About the Book: “Journey to the Rainbow’s End: A Drag Queen’s Odyssey” A collection of poetry that describes the coming of age and coming out of a man who struggled with his self-worth and identity, in the hopes to show others who share similar struggles that they are not alone. Writer’s Q&A When did you start writing and what inspired you to write? Answer: I began writing when I was twelve years old after experiencing one of the most depressing times of my life. The summer of 1987, I attempted to end my life. I struggled with a great many things, such as identity and traumatic stress caused by events that occurred my earlier childhood. Events I do not talk about very often, but one day put them pen to paper, as they say. Anyways, to make a long story short, the fall of 1987 I was lucky to have an incredible English Teacher by the name of Mrs. Carr. Now our school was not the prettiest or the fanciest, but we were lucky to have passionate instr

Welcome to the "GRANDMOTHERS: A FORCE FOR GOOD" Blog Tour! @HealthMN1 @4WillsPub #RRBC #RWISA

Today, I welcome back Harriet Hodgson, who’s dropped by to share a yummy sounding recipe. Red Pepper Dip for Vegetables Because writing is a sedentary job, I try to eat healthy. Each day, I eat at least five servings of fruits and vegetables. If you don’t like vegetables, this recipe may tempt your palette. If your kids don’t like vegetables, this dip may spark their interest in them. The dip comes together in minutes and doesn’t mask the flavor of the veggies. This recipe is from The Family Caregiver’s Cookbook. Ingredients: 1 scallion, white and green parts, minced ½ cup light mayonnaise ½ cup sour cream, fat free (or plain yogurt) ¼ teaspoon garlic powder Dash black pepper Dash hot sauce Bite-sized raw vegetables: green pepper strips, broccoli florets, cauliflower florets, celery sticks, carrot sticks, cucumber slices Method Drain red peppers, dry with paper towels, and cut into chunks. Puree peppers in food processor or with a hand blender. Add remaining ingredients. Chill 45 minut

Welcome to the WATCH "RWISA" WRITE Showcase Tour! #RRBC #RWISA - Bernard Foong

Finishing off the week, I welcome back Bernard Foong, who has dropped by with Vignettes Parisian. Please, enjoy, and leave your comments. Vignettes Parisian Vignettes Parisian is a collection of four short stories about the Author’s past and present experiences in the French City of Love and Romance, commonly known as Paris. Christian Dior Couturier Du Reve It is impossible not to have a close encounter with fashion when I am in Paris. Even if I had to wait in the freezing cold for an hour and a half to enter the Christian Dior Couturier Du Reve (Christian Dior Couturier of Dreams) exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs ( Museum of Decorative Arts ). My husband, Walter, and I were the lucky few who arrived early before the museum opened its doors. The late arrivals were banished to the back of the queue for a five hours wait before admission was granted. This spectacular exhibition was worth the wait. Not only were the lives, times, and accomplishments of Christian Dior, one of

Welcome to the WATCH "RWISA" WRITE Showcase Tour! #RRBC #RWISA - Ron Yates

For today’s installment of the Watch RWISA Write Showcase Tour, Ron Yates has stopped by to share his short story Burning Out in Tokyo. Burning Out in Tokyo By Ronald E. Yates Clayton Brandt stood just behind the glass doors of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry building waiting for a let-up in the storm that pummeled the hot Tokyo pavement. Wisps of vapor rose into the air as the rain hit the warm ground. He searched the eight-lane boulevard in front of the MITI building for an empty taxi. He knew it could be a long wait before an empty cab came down Sakurada-Dori. Thousands of bureaucrats glutted Tokyo’s Kasumigaseki district, and whenever it rained, it seemed like all of them wanted a taxi. “Son of a bitch!” he said, his words echoing through the lobby. Two middle-aged Japanese bureaucrats standing nearby looked over at the tall foreigner. They understood that English phrase. Clayton grinned. “Ame-ga futte imasu,” he said. The two men looked at one another and then bac
