When he returns home to find his wife and son have succumbed to the Black Death, he loses his morality and feeds the hunger burning within him with every bite of flesh and swallow of blood, leaving him wanting more. After being linked to a series of heinous murders, the authorities ship Reynard to America, where his bloody rampage continues across the continent. Only two women are spared from the hunger’s demands during his

Dreamwalker: The Second Plain

Saul can control dreams, not just his dreams but the dreams of people he comes in contact with. At first, he is unaware of what he can do and does not understand why people act strangely when he gets angry. When he goes away to boarding school, he inadvertently calls for help from his Spirit Guide.   His Spirit Guide teaches Saul about his gift and alerts him about danger from the Man who wants the gift. His paranoid warnings are true when the Man finds Saul after finishing school. Had Saul listened, then the nightmares that the Man creates for his pleasure and gain would not have happened. To end the nightmares, Saul must solve a poorly written “riddle” before it’s too late.   Saul enlists Marcie, a newly divorced nurse who works at the Lakeside Sanitarium, to help him stop the Man. He tells her how he came to be at the Lakeside Sanitarium and the nightmares the Man created using Saul’s power to his advantage. When she awakes, she thinks it was all just a dream.

The Road To Saratin #ReadersFavorite #Review

In my email this morning, I found a link to a review from Readers’ Favorite for The Road to Saratin . I always get a little anxious when I get these and I put off opening them for a little while. I shouldn’t have waited, because it’s a 5 Star review. The Review Reviewed by Michelle Mollohan for Readers’ Favorite Charles W Jones’s The Road To Saratin is a gripping dystopian saga. There is a mysterious chemical attack that causes mutations in humans. Carl is a 28-year-old man who was taken to the Freedom Institute under the care of Dr. Emerson Sharod when he was just 6 years old. Carl hears mysterious voices all talking at once in a jumble that he can rarely interpret. Dr. Sharon experimented on him to try to tease the voices out. Despite Carl emphatically stating that he no longer hears the voices, Dr. Sharon does not believe him. One day the voices speak to him as one, telling him that it is time to leave. He walks out of the Institute and is shocked by the changes to the outside world

Neon Houses by Linda Mims @boom_lyn #RRBC #Thriller

Neon Houses is a dystopian thriller set in the future with flying cars and psychic abilities. It follows Noel as she tries to solve the strange murder of a young woman while working as a school leader in the bad part of town and being a devoted wife. Linda created characters who are relatable, each having strong traits and personalities in a world that isn’t much different than our own. There were times I lost sight of the plot as the many layers of what was happening caused it to blur. Though, I cannot say that anything she wrote was bad. I enjoyed every word and the vividness of everything she showed me. I gave Neon Houses 4 out of 5 Stars. Get your copy at Amazon today!

March Book Reviews #RRBC @YvetteMCalleiro @maurabeth

I hate it when I get behind on writing reviews. I’ve had three stories waiting for me to talk about for too long, so I will put them in one post. The One Revealed (Chronicles of the Diasodz Book 4) by Yvette M. Calleiro The story picks up where books two and three left off, and so much happened in this installment of the Chronicles of the Diasodz that I was hard-pressed to put down because I wanted to know what would happen to our heroes next. The turmoil was heavy, and I became more attached to the characters than I already was because of it. I gave The One Revealed 5 out of 5 Stars. Get your copy at Amazon ! I'll Be Right Back by Maura Beth Brennan I applaud Maura Beth Brennan for writing this short story. The details of Warren’s wife disappearing in the night gave me concern as I wondered what could’ve happened to her. Then as the story unfolds, everything is revealed with an ending I didn’t expect. I gave I’ll Be Right Back 5 out of 5 Stars. Get your copy at Amazon ! The One Aw

At The Devil’s Door (2014) #HorrorMovie Review

At the Devil’s Door ( 2014 ) has been on my watch list for a while, and when I finally found it among the million channels I have from my TV services, I was excited to see it. Too bad, my expectations were set way too high. You’d think from the poster on its own that it was going to be creepy and scary; it’s a demonic possession movie after all. The opening sequence starts with an intense game of “find the button under cups” in a creepy trailer house. I loved the uneasy feelings and the freaky older woman who sat behind the man moving the cups. The smiley button with the X when Hannah makes her final pick felt like it was leading to something chilling. And the last step of her getting the $500 was strange, but not as bizarre as the man’s words, so ‘he’ knows who to take, added to the ambiance of a good thrill ride. Too, bad they jammed on the breaks. The acting even went downhill, especially by Catalina Sandino Moreno, who played Leigh. It was like she’d just learned the lines moments

My Little Sister (2016) #Survival #LastGirl

My Little Sister (2016) stole from so many movies in this sub-genre that I wished I had a bingo card as I watched because I would’ve gotten a blackout. A group of friends goes camping in the woods while not heeding warnings to not pitch a tent there. Well, that’s how the description goes, but actually, one couple isn’t at the campsite. I enjoyed the sinister feeling and the torture/kill scenes were entertaining. The effects weren’t horrible either. The strangeness was nice too. What I liked the most was that all my questions were answered in the end. And that Last Girl tag I gave it in the title, well, you’ll just have to see it if you want. If you’re bored and there’s nothing else that you haven’t seen. My Little Sister was a collage of so many movies of this type, but it kept me interested. I gave it 3 out of 5 Stars.
